Can you imagine a life without technology? A life before you could Google absolutely anything and get the answer in a split second? A life before you could talk to a loved one half way across the world FOR FREE? In short no… most of us couldn’t ever imagine life without our mod-cons now. Was life easier? The ‘Baby Boomers’ and beyond will have you believe that life was very simple then, maybe it was, but then again they didn’t know any different.
With so many ‘hacking’ issues that have been widely reported on in the last few years, maybe a pen and paper approach is the safest, most simplistic option, but certainly one that just wouldn’t cut it in this day and age. It was only last month that the NHS had a massive security breach which brought down computer systems nationwide. It had a catastrophic knock-on effect seeing hundreds of patients waiting longer for much needed operations and procedures.
So are we too dependent on technology in 2017? The answer seems to be a resounding yes!
“There’s no denying technology is great, but are humans becoming too dependent on technology? Advancements in technology have enabled humans to do things that were previously unimaginable and it has certainly made many tasks easier than they were before. How many of us can go for a week without an internet connection or cell phone? Do people take time to memorise phone numbers anymore? Technology has made life so convenient for humans that being without it is a very scary thought. What would happen if we had to go without our gadgets? What would happen if all the technology that people depend on just shuts down?”
