Dink are a brand new socially creative yet insight led agency that launched in December 2017.  Starting out with an enviable client base, including a number of the biggest sports brands on the planet, they immediately opened two offices — one in Central London and a second in South Devon (Paignton).

Dan Bulman, Operations Director, got in touch in January 2018 shortly after launching requiring 4 new team members for the Paignton office with roles spanning performance marketing, digital account management and web analytics.  Skills which can be hard to find outside of the main Devon hubs of Exeter and Plymouth.

After discussing our multi-hire digital search proposition it was clear this would be the ideal route to utilise this exciting new brand as well as target suitable talent both in the local area and further afield.

The requirements were clear; Dink want to be the biggest and best in their space and so it was essential to find candidates who had something about them, who had the core digital skills, were energetic, not afraid to get stuck into life at a start up but most importantly could see the vision of the business and were up for the ride!

Forming a two-person team we set about identifying, approaching and engaging with some of the best digital talent in the South West.  We were posed with some initial scepticism as at the time Dink didn’t have a live website and nobody had heard of the agency before.  However once we started to talk about the brand, the team and the vision it quickly became an easy sell and one where there was significant interest.  It was only because Dan could see the value of the digital search we were able to talk so openly about the brand and thus engage with the best talent.

Within 4 weeks we had 3 of the 4 roles filled.  This included the Web Analytics position – a notoriously hard role to fill anywhere in the UK let alone a small town on the South Devon Coast (Well done Nick Blake!).  Still one to find, someone with PPC skills, again a tricky hire and this was delivered the following month.

Four hires in two months at a brand-new company that nobody had heard of.  A testament to what a true partnership between client and recruiter can deliver.
