Purple Monkey Recruitment are delighted to be working exclusively with a well-known lifestyle brand who are looking for an eCommerce Merchandiser to join their expanding business.

Ecommerce is at the heart of the growth strategy and the eCommerce Merchandiser who will help grow the online business; achieving the agreed annual sales budget and firmly establishing our client as an online retailer.

You will be responsible for day to day trading analysis, site merchandising and product maintenance. You will also look to maximize the digital marketing channels.

You will manage the analytics for the business allowing you to make important strategic business decisions. As a key remit of this role you will ensure that standards are maintained and improved whenever possible across the site to give our customers a best in class shopping experience.

As the eCommerce Merchandiser you will:

  • Collect, amend and upload content for products ensuring this content is SEO friendly.
  • Work with the category teams to ensure that product goes on the site as soon as the stock hits the DC
  • Work with the photography studio ensuring that new product is being shot as a priority
  • Constantly look at product descriptions and amending to the highest standards
  • Manage and execute clearance, ensuring prices are correct
  • Work with the user experience team to ensure that we are delivering a world class customer experience
  • Execute promotional changeovers and constantly work on how to improve this process
  • Execute the weekly homepage changeover, ensuring this is correct with what was planned and is the best journey for the customer
  • Build and maintain the category landing pages to ensure a good customer journey.
  • Ensure product and content published conforms to regulatory standards in collaboration with the regulatory affairs team
  • Ensure that all products on the site are in the right category with the right attributes, ensuring that information about products is customer facing and sales driving.
  • Work across the ecommerce team to continuously develop processes, ways of working and developing the website
  • Build relationships with the category teams to ensure that new product is on the site in a timely manner to maximise sales
  • Work across the ecommerce team to continuously develop processes, ways of working and developing the website
  • Grow sales in line with business objectives and targets for all online channels
  • Achieve financial and operational goals
  • Actively continuing your own self-development (including product knowledge)
  • Working with the category teams to ensure promotions are executed well and online activity is commercially sound
  • Use data to drive the customer experience across the site


To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • Close attention to detail
  • A natural relationship builder
  • Experience in eCommerce or a degree in a related subject
  • Natural flair for the customer journey
  • Experience in web analytics would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of basic HTML
  • Knowledge of Magento and WordPress also an advantage
